River North Dance Chicago

Individuals are able to help us bring existing choreographers’ work to a broader audience and nurture emerging choreographers giving them an opportunity to create on a world-class company and have their work performed across the globe.

Our Producers Society is a group of caring individuals who generously contribute $1,000 or more annually to support River North’s artistic initiatives, including the development of new works and maintenance of the Company’s rich and diverse repertoire.  As a member, you enjoy invitations to special events, studio viewings, access to the choreographic process, dancers, artistic staff and more.

For those who prefer to fund a specific work, new or existing, you have the opportunity to join a consortium with a minimum gift of $5,000 to underwrite a piece of your choosing.  In addition to receiving all Producers Society benefits, you will receive recognition in perpetuity worldwide in program listings whenever the work is performed.

Education is a fundamental component of the philosophy and mission of River North Dance Chicago. Whether it’s nurturing Chicago Public School elementary students through in-school and after-school residencies to training aspiring pre-professional dancers through our workshops and summer intensives, River North is committed to bringing valuable programs to students in Chicago and across the country.

Through our Chance to Dance Fund, you can:
•   Fund one public school class with a gift of $100
•   Underwrite the cost of a bus to transport students from one of our participating schools to the Harris Theater to see a full performance with a gift of $200
•   Fund a 10 week session in a school with a gift of $1,000
•   Fund 30 weeks of programming in a school with a gift of $3,000
•   Give to our Scholarship Fund to help talented young dancers attend River North’s summer programs
•   And more!

Are gifts to River North Dance Chicago tax deductible?
Yes! River North is a 501(c)3 organization with Tax ID#36-3789808.  All contributions are deductible to the extent allowable by law.

Can I make a gift of stock?
A gift of stock saves two ways. You avoid capital-gains on the increased value, and you receive a deduction for the full market value of the stock at the time you make the gift.  Please contact Paula Petrini Lynch, Development Manager, at 312-944-2888 prior to making a gift of appreciated securities to receive our transfer instructions.

Can I direct my company’s matching gift to River North?
Yes! Hundreds of companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Some match contributions dollar for dollar, while some even double or triple the amount of your gift!  It’s simple to do – ask your HR department for your company’s matching gift form, send the completed form to us and we’ll take it from there.

Do in-kind donations help?
In-kind donations are a vital part of our fundraising. From housing for visiting choreographers to donating an exciting item for our annual auction, we rely on your generosity to make our year a success.

May a gift be made in honor or memory of someone?
What better way to celebrate a special occasion or remember a friend or loved one than by making a donation in lieu of a more traditional gift. You may complete the “Dedication or Gift” section when making a gift online (please remember to include the name and address of who we should notify of the honor or memorial) or contact Paula Petrini Lynch, Development Manager, at 312-944-2888.

Does River North need volunteers?
Absolutely!  River North’s volunteers help with administrative duties in the office, assistance at Chicago performances, distribute flyers, serve on event committees, assist at events and more!  If you would like to volunteer, please email us with the subject line “I would like to volunteer” in the subject line. Let us know who you are, what sort of volunteer work you are interested in and your availability.
